Day Two: Arriving In Helsinki [162 pictures]

Monday, June 8: The good ship Silja Symphony arrives in Helsinki, and leaves us to explore some of the sights. |

Day Four: Out And About [164 pictures]

Wednesday, June 10: We say goodbye to Michael, and go exploring some more in Helsinki. Plus a trip to the Disneyland of the Baltic! |

Day Five: Suomenlinna [446 pictures]

|
Thursday, June 11: We spent a bright and beautiful day on Suomenlinna, an inhabited sea fortress built on six islands in the Gulf of Finland (just off the coast of Helsinki).
Suomenlinna is a UNESCO World Heritage site and it's pretty darn picturesque. |

Day Six: The Long Good Friday [166 pictures]

Friday, June 12: From the laundromat to the Post Office to Arabia to the Sibelius Monument to the 1952 Summer Olympics, all in one day! |

Day Seven: Kalling All Kasslins! [187 pictures]
|
|
Saturday, June 13: We spent the day at Mika's place, attending the (we hope annual) Kasslin Family Reunion (of sorts). Food, family, and fun, we had a blast. Apologies to everybody whose name we misspelled or got totally wrong, I tried to keep notes but you know how that goes. |

Day Eight: Sunday In The Park With Mika [211 pictures]

Sunday, June 14: A lovely Sunday out with Mika, where we visit an architect's retreat, the historic city of Porvoo, and a well-mannered manor. It's good to be the king! |

|
Day Nine: Seurasaari [253 pictures]
|
|
Monday, June 15: We had sorta planned on taking the boat to Tallinn for the day, but the weather wasn't terribly cooperative so we stayed closer to town. It turned out to be a very lovely day, even if the clouds did roll in. |

Day Eleven: Sea, Sauna, and Sightseeing [277 pictures]

|
Wednesday, June 17: Our last full day in Helsinki, and man, was it a full day -- we walked the town, went on a cruise, and took a long, hot sauna before going home to Jukka's for a good night's rest. |

|
Day Twelve: Terve, Helsinki! [42 pictures]
|
|
Thursday, June 18: Saying goodbye to Helsinki and family (for now!) and heading home. See you next year! |
